Star Airlines selects Aeronett's A320 Computer-Based Training Course

Richmond, BC, Canada - Aeronett today announced the sale of a site license of its Airbus A320 flight crew computer-based training (CBT) course to the French airline. Wicat of Lindon, Utah, with whom Aeronett entered into a marketing agreement last year, completed the sale as part of an overhaul of Star Airline's A320 training program that includes Wicat's Free-play FMGS simulator.

"Star Airlines plans to greatly expand our A320 training capabilities over the next year to also include training for third-party operators," said Christian Bris, director for aviation affairs at Star Airlines. "This FMGS trainer and CBT will form the backbone of that program. Wicat's long history with Airbus, its impressive list of A320 customers, and off-the-shelf availability of both the simulation and CBT really sealed the deal for us. In addition, the fact that these products are proven effective worldwide and run on standard, easy-to-maintain PCs makes our investment …a very intelligent and easily justified choice."

Aeronett's Airbus A320 CBT - Airlines such as Star Airlines are using the Airbus A320 CBT during initial or transitional flight crew training, so that their pilots can familiarize themselves with the A320 aircraft systems. The course was developed in close cooperation with Canadian Airlines International subject matter experts to guarantee accurate and relevant content.

Aeronett's Airbus A320 CBT solution is the most technologically advanced program offered worldwide. The course integrates graphics, 3D simulation, 2D digital images, and professionally recorded audio. This new generation technology delivers accurate and realistic visual representations of the environment in which the pilots will have to perform. The pilots have a positive learning experience and can focus easily on course goals. Using standard hardware and software, the A320 course can be accessed via compact disks, local area network (LAN) or the Internet. This enables pilots to learn and review the material at their own speed.

Aeronett's unique and highly effective CBT approach increases training effectiveness and condenses learning time. The A320 CBT course can reduce the time spent in a classroom by up to 50 %, drastically cutting training cost while motivating the learner and improving retention of new information. The pilot is able to transfer knowledge and skills effectively and safely from the classroom to the workplace.
